• The Life Center Runaway Helpline is a free, confidential service for young people who have run away from home. You can text them even if you have no credit left on your mobile phone. Call or text 116 000 (free).

pencil  Childline provides children and young people with confidential and free support online, or via text, phone and email. Call 0800 1111 (free).

pencil Samaritans provides confidential emotional support, 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those that may lead to suicide. 020 8681 6666 (local call charges apply); National telephone: 116 123 (free call). They operate a drop-in centre at Samaritans Croydon 2B Kidderminster Road Croydon CR9 2BQ, open at 7:30pm-9:00 pm Monday through Saturday, earlier on Tuesday and Wednesday, and by appointment.

pencil Anxiety UK offer a helpline between 9.30 and 5.30pm Mon-Fri for people experiencing anxiety. Call 03444 775 774 or text 07537 416 905.

pencil Domestic Violence Helpline is a 24/7 national service, also for families and friends 0808 2000247 (free).

pencil Papyrus Hopeline offers a support helpline for young people who are feeling suicidal. Call 0800 068 41 41 or visit their website for details of how-to text or email.

pencil Young Minds offers lots of resources for young people and their parents about youth mental health (ADHD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, anxiety and anger issues, self-harm, bullying, sexual abuse and many more): www.youngminds.org.uk . Text the YoungMinds Crisis Messenger, for free 24/7 support across the UK if you are experiencing a mental health crisis. If you need urgent help text YM to 85258. All texts are answered by trained volunteers and are free from EE, O2, Vodafone, 3, Virgin Mobile, BT Mobile, GiffGaff, Tesco Mobile and Telecom Plus.
